About

Welcome to the One Community, One Columbia blog!  We hope you will join in our conversation about community.  You can do so on this blog, or by joining in an on-line or in person forum. You can also download our dialogue guide, host your own conversation and report back!

In this blog we highlight dialogue events designed to bring the diverse parts of our community together, report on collaborative efforts to strengthen our community, and report on citizen-led efforts to connect with and help each other.

The blog is being moderated by The Communications Center, Inc. It began as part of a learning exchange that included the Columbia Daily Tribune and the Kettering Foundation. We have used and are evaluating a range of tools to help citizens engage in discussion and make changes in our community. The exchange started with several on-line forums, all of which are archived on-line, and an in-person “world cafe”.

With the departure of managing editor Jim Robertson from the Tribune, we are transitioning to a citizen-coordinated structure, and have several who have volunteered to assist.  If you are interested, send an email to info@buildingdialogue.com.  And look for updates here!
